Vermilion Parish Armed Robbery Arrest

According to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, four (4) people have been arrested and booked into the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center as a result of an early morning Armed Robbery which took place at Maxie Pierce Grocery in Intracoastal City early this morning.

Sheriff Couvillon says that at approximately 5:15am this morning, the Sheriff's Office received a call from an employee of an Armed Robbery at the aforementioned place of business indicating that they had just been robbed at gun point and was able to provide officers with a description of the subjects as well as a description of the vehicle used.

Sheriff Couvillon further stated that officers in the immediate area were able to locate the suspect vehicle heading north on La. Hwy. 82 near Perry and were able to initiate a felony traffic stop and arrest the subjects without incident.

Arrested were the following individuals:

Phillip McNulty - b/m, dob 12/23/88 of 102 Van Norman Curve Road McComb, Mississippi

Odarius Smith - b/m, dob 11/08/88 of 1028 Church Street Summit, Mississippi

Tanisha Marshall - b/f, dob 09/15/80 of 1152 Tanglewood Road Magnolia, Mississippi

Wilisa Ratliff - b/f, 10/14/91 of 905 White Oak Street Summit, Mississippi

Sheriff Couvillon also stated that McNulty and Smith have been arrested and booked on 1 ct. of Armed Robbery and 2cts. of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile, while Marshall and Ratliff were arrested and booked on 1ct. of Principle to Armed Robbery and 2cts. of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile with no bond set on any of the subjects at present time.

Sheriff Couvillon says that he and his department will not stand idle in the prosecution process of these four individuals who committed this horrendous crime while also endangering the safety and well being of two very young juveniles who were in the vehicle at the time of the Armed Robbery and will work closely with the District Attorney's Office to ensure that these individuals are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Finally, Sheriff Couvillon says that he is thankful that no one was injured in this incident and credits the actions of the victims and immediate response of his officers as the key elements to apprehending these subjects within a matter of minutes without incident.
