On July 23, 2012, a white female entered a local hotel and demanded money from the clerk, the suspect had what appeared to be a weapon concealed in her jacket pocket, according to the clerk. After demanding money from the clerk the suspect ripped out the phone lines and departed from the business with under 500 dollars. Officers arrived after being called by the clerk on a cellular phone, the female described as heavy set with short brown or black hair fled in a loud vehicle in an unknown direction.
On July 27, 2012, the same local hotel was again entered by the above white female suspect, this time a second clerk recognized her from the description given by the first clerk. Upon contact with the clerk, the suspect w/f again indicated she had a weapon and demanded money from the cash drawer. This time the clerk refused and blocked the exit doors. The clerk then called 911 on his cell phone and the suspect managed to get by him at this time. The clerk followed the suspect outside to a white vehicle and obtained the license plate number which was relayed to the police.
Upon police arrival to the hotel the suspect had already fled in a southerly direction. Officers ran the license plate which came back to a subject in Lake Arthur la. Officers with the police department and Jeff Davis sheriff's office proceeded south on la 102 towards lake Arthur where they caught up to the suspect who had hit the ditch in a curve south of Jennings. Officers apprehended the suspect identified as Rita Nicole Hendrickson age/31 of 2404 Legros Road Jennings. Without incident. Upon interview of the suspect Hendrickson, she admitted to robbing the local hotel on both July 27th and July 23, the suspect Hendrickson is currently being held in the Jennings City Jail.
