Youngsville Shooting Victim Identified


Police have identified the person that died after a late night shooting in Youngsville. 

On July 23rd at approximately 11:33 pm, Youngsville Police responded to 102 Cedar Hills for a domestic disturbance involving a firearm.

The disturbance was between the home owner, Tammy Romero and her roommate, Victor Wirtz.  The disturbance was physical and led to Romero attempting to use her phone to call 911.  Wirtz grabbed the phone as Romero retrieved a hand gun from a nearby drawer.  Wirtz was shot from a single round fired by Romero.  He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Romero was charged with 2nd degree murder and booked into LPCC.





Youngsville Police say there was a shooting on Cedar Hills Rd. Youngsville police say a man and a woman both living at the house, got into a fight. Authorities say the woman got a gun, and as the man approached her, she allegedly pulled the trigger. Investigators say the man was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
