Lafayette Jury Convicts Man of Agg. Rape of Wife - Acadiana's Multi-Media News Station

A Lafayette Parish Jury has convicted a Texas man for aggravated rape and second degree sexual battery. 

47 year old, Ted Dwayne Stevens Jr. was convicted in the 15th Judicial District Court.

In December of 2010, a Lafayette police officer was dispatched to Lafayette General Medical Center in response to a rape that occurred in the parking lot of a hotel. Police arrested Stevens in connection with the rape.

The penalty for aggravated rape is life imprisonment.
