A new phenomenon in political journalism has many journalist concerned in the way they report the news. A New York Times article detailed a new trend in news coverage of the presidential campaign revealing that many reporters now allow sources "quote approval" telling reporters what they may or may not use in some stories.
The article describes " quote approval " as a strategy by campaigns that requires reporters to send quotations they intend to use to candidates' press officers to be edited and if the reporters don't, then they may not get access to the candidate again.
