A West Monroe man convicted of negligent homicide for the death of his infant son has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Chase Cascio's sentence Wednesday was the maximum prison term he faced for his conviction. He isn't eligible for parole, probation or a suspended sentence.
A state jury convicted Cascio in May of killing his 2-month-old son, Roman, who died in June 2009.
A doctor who treated the child associated his injuries with Shaken Baby Syndrome.
