Teen arrested attempting to sell synthetic marijuana at McDonald's


The Eunice Police Department Narcotics Division received information that 18 year old Cade Dietz was leaving the Iota area, headed to the Eunice McDonald's with narcotics to sell.

Surveillance was then set up and a few minutes later Cade Dietz arrived in a White Toyota pick up. Officers then pulled up and advised him of the complaint made against him. Dietz then gave permission to search his vehicle and told officers that he was in possession of synthetic marijuana and his passenger was a 16 year old juvenile.

During the search, officers recovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a sawed off 12 gauge shotgun with a modified pistol grip. Officers learned that both were aware of the shotgun in the truck and both had discussed the delivery of the drugs.

Dietz also smoked marijuana while the juvenile was riding along. Both were placed under arrest and booked at Eunice PD. The 16 year old juvenile was questioned in the presence of his parents then booked and released back to his parents. Cade Dietz was booked then appeared for line up this morning. He bonded out after posting $29, 500.00 bond.

He is being charged with:

Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule 1 CDS (Marijuana)

Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule 1 CDS (Synthetic Marijuana)

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Violation of the Uniform CDS Law(approx 1050 feet from Eunice High School)

Illegal Carrying of Weapons

Possession of an Unregistered Firearm

Illegal Use of CDS in the Presence of Persons Under 17 years of age
