
Louisiana citizens with Medicare are saving millions of dollars all thanks to the Affordable Care Act. A new report released today by the Centers For Medicare and Medicaid Services, shows that in the first 5 months of 2012, over 12 thousand people with Medicare in Louisiana saved over $7 million on prescription drugs.
The average savings for seniors and people with disabilities totaled $640.
Since the Affordable Care Act was passed, nationwide more than 5 million people with Medicare saved on $3.7 billion on prescription drugs.
