WASHINGTON, La. (AP) - The St. Landry Parish town of Washington is headed toward its third consecutive annual budget deficit for the budget year that begins July 1. The Town Council earlier this week got a look at the financial facts with the introduction of the proposed budget for the 2012-13 fiscal year. The council was told the 2011-12 budget year is expected to close on June 30 with a $277,592 deficit. Troy Courville, the city's accounting consultant, projects the 2012-13 budget will show a deficit of at least $155,000.
