Vermilion Parish School Board members are considering making some changes for the upcoming school year. At a school board committee meeting Monday, there were a number of proposals that were brought up.
One recommendation was to have the six weeks grading period extended to nine weeks. Superintendent, Randy Schexnayder, says the extension will allow students to complete more test in hopes of increasing state test scores.
Another proposal that is being considered is raising the price of school lunches by twenty cents due to a federal government mandate that schools serve more fruits and vegetables. The committee will consider these changes at next school board meeting this Thursday
