Caddo Parish officials are searching for whoever tied Tina Soes' donkey to the bottom of a fence and left it to die.
Soes arrived at her barn on Monday to find one of her nine donkeys tied tightly by the halter on his face to the bottom of an iron fence post.
The donkey died soon after as Soes cut him loose.
The sheriff's deputies, Caddo Animal Control and Louisiana Livestock Brand Commission personnel responded to Soes' call.
In addition to the donkey, Soes lost two saddles, three saddle blankets and several headstalls and other goods.
Deputies say they will be watching pawn shops for the stolen goods, valued at more than $6,000.
The suspects are wanted for felony charges.
