Church Point Man found Guilty of 2nd Degree Murder

Eyewitness News was first to tell you last night about the Church Point investigation into the death of August Carter Junior. On 5/21/2009 an autopsy report confirmed that August Carter died as a result of a homicide.

Twenty one-year-old Robert Thomas was arrested and charged with second degree murder after police say he struck Carter as he walked out of a local lounge and then kicked him in the head.

Thomas was found guilty of 2nd degree murder on 6/13/1012. Sentencing set for June 19th. He has been remanded back to custody of the Acadia Parish Jail.
