New Iberia City Park fell victim to recent of vandalism which has lead to the possibility of surveillance equipment being installed.
The first incident occurred on May 25th, when two picnic tables were vandalized and the inside of a portable toilet was spray painted. Estimated costs of those damages were about 250 dollars.
According to park officials, the vandals tipped several trash cans over near the office building and at the skate park. A lighted sign was also dented near the skate park.
The New Iberia City Park director says it will cost up to $1700 to install about 12 to 15 motion sensitive cameras throughout the park.
