The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality says a Lafayette woman has been arrested and accused of illegally storing 70,000 gallons of grease and septic tank waste.
The DEQ said in a news release Tuesday that Deidre Lavan allegedly used her tank truck equipment to transport grease and septic tank wastes from area residences and businesses and stored and disposed of these materials without a permit on her property.
DEQ investigators found nine storage tanks on Lavan's property while executing a search warrant Dec. 14.
The DEQ says Lavan was convicted in 2006 of similar crimes.
As a condition of her probation, the news release says Lavan agreed to a lifetime ban from the septic waste hauling or disposal business.
It couldn't be determined if Lavan has an attorney.
