Scott Copper Theft Arrests

On January 28, 2012 Scott Police responded to a break-in at the business of MI Swaco in the City of Scott. Officers arrived to find that a hurricane fence surrounding the business had been cut by unknown suspect(s). Once inside the yard the suspect(s) took scrap remnants of copper wire. 

On January 30, 2012 Scott Police responded to a break-in at the business of Entergy Services. Officers arrived to find that a hurricane fence surrounding the business had been cut by unknown suspect(s). Once inside the yard the suspect(s) took large spools of electrical wire along with other copper wiring located at the facility. The total value of the theft amounted to $53,367.00.

On February 13, 2013 Investigators with Scott City Police received information from Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Investigators of three possible suspects who committed the two crimes in Scott.

Scott Investigators located two of the possible suspects incarcerated at Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on charges of committing burglaries in Youngsville and New Iberia. During the interview with the two suspects it was learned that Joshua Foreman and Mattew Jameyson did commit the two crimes listed which occurred in the City of Scott.

The third suspect was identified as Jacob Romero. Scott City Police added charges for the crimes to the two suspects already in jail. An arrest warrant was obtained by Scott City Police for the arrest of Jacob Romero whom is not found at this time.
