
UL Lafayette and Drexel University in Philadelphia are in the planning stages for a research center.
It will be known as the Center on Visual and Decision Informatics and will provide research for business and state agencies.
The two universities received a combined grant of $135,000 from the National Science Foundation.
The center teams ULL's school of computing and informatics with the school at Drexel, which specializes in information systems and digital library science.
