Acadiana's News Leader New Iberia Shooting Arrest

Iberia Parish authorities say they arrested a New Iberia man after he led deputies on a chase Tuesday afternoon. Sheriff Louis Ackal says it all began when Joshua Smith fired shots at two vehicles from his car on the 700 Block of Breaux Alley. 
 

Deputies tracked down Smith's car on another street, and the chase began. Ackal says Smith attempted to get away but eventually crashed his car into the Iberia Village apartment complex.
Ackal says Smith then led deputies on a foot chase but was caught moments later.  

No one was injured and detectives are investigating the case.
