Acadiana's News Leader The Running of the Ducks Kick off Party

Friday evening, The Boys and Girls Club of Acadiana launched their annual fundraiser "The Running of the Ducks" with a kick-off party at The Shed in Scott. The event was attended by sponsors and community supporters in an effort to bring awareness to this year's big race. Every year, the Boys and Girls Club sells rubber ducks that will eventually be sent swirling down the lazy river at Red's Fitness…the winner, takes home a new car! Last year, over twenty-five thousand ducks were sold and this year the goal is to reach thirty thousand. All of the proceeds raised goes to funding the after school and summer programs for Club members. Ducks will be sold from February 6^th through March 30^th and race day is March 31^st.

You can purchase the ducks from over 60 vendors or on the club website. Not only will the first place race winner take home a car donated by Moss Motors, there will be twenty other prizes valued at over five hundred dollars given away. Those who enter could find themselves one lucky duck!
