Authorities in Lafourche Parish are beefing up security at two high schools following what authorities are calling the gang-related death of a teenager. 15-year-old Jamonta Miles was killed Monday night as Miles and six others rode through Raceland in a SUV. Precautions are being taken at Thibodaux High and Central Lafourche High in Raceland Wednesday out of concern that there might be attempts at retaliation or a copycat shooting.  The precautions include the use of metal detectors and more police. Miles was an eighth-grader at West Thibodaux Middle School, but the other six were current or former students at Thibodaux High.
