A candlelight vigil was held in Jennings in honor of Shawntell George, who police say was beaten to death by her boyfriend early Tuesday morning on her family's front lawn.

She was a pregnant mother of three, and her boyfriend Villnon Botley allegedly struck her in the head with a metal pipe.

George was later declared brain dead along with her fetus.

Family and friends say Shawntell had a hard life and the vigil was held to remember the good times in her life.

Her cousin Jeanette Soularie says that the life Shawntell lived wasn't her, and they just wanted to remember happy moments as she went to a better place.

Botley has been arrested and charged with second degree murder and second degree feticide.
