Crowley Police now have the man they say stabbed a woman and left her body in a home for a day and a half. Larry Jackson is now charged with second degree murder.
Crowley Police are investigating the murder of, Latasha Johnson, a young woman that was found dead in her home, a day and a half after she was reported missing.
"She didn't call me. That's not like her. She usually calls us, everywhere she goes," says Mary Johnson, Latasha Johnson's mother.
Mary Johnson reported her daughter Latasha missing after she didn't show up for a Mother's Day celebration on Sunday.
"I told Mary all we can do is pray, and hope she calls us and lets us know where she's at, and that's the last time we ever heard anything about it," says Elbert Johnson, Latasha's father.
Latasha Johnson lived next door to her parents. They went through the house to look for any sign of her. They didn't find her the first time, but during the second walk through there was a foul stench in the house.
Mary Johnson describes their search, "She went peep in the back bed room and it was dark in there, but she says she sees some legs. I said I'm calling the police."
Even though Johnson's body was hard to find, police aren't sure if the body was hidden.
"It was just hard to see. We don't know if it was hidden or a matter, just maybe from the disturbance, being that in the location it was just hard to see," says Crowley Police Chief, K.P. Gibson.
The last person to see Johnson alive was her boyfriend. Police say her death could be the result of a domestic disturbance. Something Johnson's parents were witness to.
"He fight her since Thursday, I stopped that. Then he choked her on Friday night," says mother, Mary.
Latasha Johnson, 24, leaves behind three children who will dearly miss her. Along with all of her family.
Fighting tears, her father, Elbert says. "I know one thing. I'm gonna miss my baby, because I done everything for my baby. Everything,"
We still do not know how long Johnson he was dead in her home before she was found. We are still waiting for a coroner's report to be released.
