Baked Praline, Candied Yams
Ingredients:
- 2 (23 oz.) can sweet potatoes, drained
- 1 1/2 cups Tony Chachere's Praline, Honey Ham Marinade
- 1/3 cup golden raisins
- Dash of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
- 3 tablespoons butter
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees
- In a baking dish, combine all ingredients
- Cover
- Bake for 35 minutes or until bubbly
- Serve warm
- Yields 8 servings
Tony Chachere's Raisin Sauce for Baked Ham
Ingredients:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup seedless raisins
- 1 or 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper
- 3 cups water
- 1 tablespoon powdered mustard
- Pinch nutmeg & cinnamon
Instructions:
- Mix dry ingredients in a bowl
- Add raisins, vinegar, cloves and water
- Cook to a syrup
- Pour over sliced ham
- Place syrup covered ham in 300 degree oven for about 10 minutes and serve
- Yields 2 cups
