The Lafayette Utilities System is on the final stretch to make its fiber project a reality.
LUS says construction is set to begin on the main fiber building which will be built in the Leda I-10 Industrial Park. The site will include a satellite dish farm and a tower. LUS also unveiled the new logo for the program.
LUS fiber is designed to offer city residents another option for internet, phone and cable services. City leaders say the first connections to be made in January of next year. Rain delayed the official groundbreaking ceremony. Huval says you can also expect to see smaller fiber construction projects starting around the city.
