It's one of the largest greenspace areas left in Lafayette.
The future of the old UL Horse Farm will be discussed at a meeting Thursday night.
The Save the Horse Farm group will host a meeting starting at 5:30 in the Lagniappe Room of the UL Student Union. The group formed last year when the university planned to swap the farm for two residential properties on Girard Park Drive.
Lafayette Consolidated Government president Joey Durel plans to be at the meeting.
He says he backs turning the land into a park-type facility.
Durel says he thinks they would like to go in and have the ability to walk and jog. He says he doesn't think anybody is talking in terms of keeping it like it is. He says he thinks they would like to keep it like it is but make it more accessible.
The old horse farm issue will also be a topic at the Concerned Citizens for Good Government meeting Monday night.
