THE FOLLOWING PETS HAVE BEEN FOUND BY GOOD SAMARITANS THROUGHOUT ACADIANA.  PLEASE GIVE THEM A CALL IF YOU RECOGNIZE YOUR MISSING PET.

FOUND:

  2 Puppies who look very similar, they may be littermates.  They are wearing collars without tags, and were found  found around the Verot School Road/Vincent Road area.  To identify and claim, please call 337-258-1897.

FOUND:

   Poodle, with a gray coat and wearing a turquoise collar, well groomed and very friendly.  Found off Parklane in Lafayette.  Call 337-277-5119.

FOUND:

  Male Poodle.  He is wearing a blue collar with stones embedded in it, and has blue polish on his toenails.  He was found near Dupre Road and Gloria Switch Road. If this is your dog, send an e-mail to mwmc1@cox.net.

FOUND:

   Young adult female mixed breed dog, possibly an English Pointer mix.  She has a black and white coat, and is medium size.  She is not microchipped, and she is not wearing a collar.  She was found on Austria Road the intersection of Landry Road, just south of Duson.  If this is your dog, call 337-288-6571 or 337-981-4922.

FOUND:

   Puppy, wearing a pink collar, found in Fox Chase Subdivision, just off Dulles and Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette.  Call 337-988-1256 to identify and claim.  Please leave a message on the answering machine, if necessary.

FOUND:

   Large breed male dog, possibly a Lab or Mastiff mix.  He has a cream-colored coat with black markings, and is wearing a fluorescent orange collar with no tags.  This dog is very friendly and well-behaved, and is a wonderful dog.  He appears to be young, and is not neutered.  He was found in the Scott area.  If this is your dog, or you know who he may belong to, please call 337-233-3715.

FOUND:

   Male Black Lab.  He is wearing a leather collar with a 2007 Vermilion Parish rabies tag.  This dog was found at Midland High School in Acadia Parish.  If you know who he belongs to, please call  337-581-1958.

FOUND:

   Terrier mix, white coat with brown ears and mask, and brown markings on body.  This dog is wandering in a field in the 1500 block of Gendarme Road in Carencro, and will not let anyone get close enough to catch it, or even determine its gender.  The people who found the dog are feeding it.  If this is your dog, or if you know who it might belong to, please call 337-896-3047 or 337-501-0036.

FOUND:

   Young Beagle/Hound mixed breed dog.  This dog has a tan and white coat, and is wearing a collar, and was found at the intersection of Gallet and Savoy Road in the Youngsville/Milton area.  If this is your dog, please call 337-277-1687,  and if there is no answer, please leave a message.

FOUND:

   Two young male dogs, in Abbeville.  One is a medium size black dog with shaggy hair, possibly a Schnauzer mix.  The second dog is smaller, with a white coat and tan markings and wiry hair, and appears to be a Terrier mix.  The dogs were found near J. H. Williams Middle School in Abbeville, and they are friendly and social.  Neither of the dogs is wearing a collar.  If these are your dogs or you know who they belong to, please call 337-258-1027 or send an e-mail to iam_u_neek@yahoo.com.

 

 

FOUND:

   Female Terrier mix, black and white coat, about 25-30 pounds.  She is an older dog, and has a spay scar on her stomach.  She was found on University Avenue in Carencro.  If this is your dog, call 337-896-1553 or send an e-mail to lafanimalaid@yahoo.com.

FOUND:

   Small male dog.  He has a black coat, with wavy hair and white spot on his chest, and is wearing a black collar with no tags.  He was found in Points of View Subdivision off Verot School Road.  If this is your dog, call 337-298-8584. 

FOUND:

   Adult female Black Lab, found in Youngsville near Rouse's Supermarket.    If this is your dog, please call  962-1124.

FOUND:

  Female German Shepherd.  She was found on Brothers Road in Scott.  If this is your dog, call 337-356-4656.

FOUND:

   Female Daschund.  Very sweet dog, wearing a collar but no tags.  She was found on the corner of Oaklawn and St. Louis Street in Lafayette.  To claim this dog, call 337-233-7224.

FOUND:

   Female Terrier mix.  She has a brown and white coat, and is wearing a collar without tags.  She is very friendly and seems to enjoy riding in the car. She was found outside Buffalo Wild Wings on Ambassador Caffery in Lafayette.  If this is your dog, send an e-mail to bob_th3_c4t_o@hotmail.com.

FOUND:

   Young male dog, possibly a Beagle/Hound mix.  He has a mostly black and brown coat with long black ears and black dapples on white legs.  He has a sweet disposition, and is wearing a collar but not tags.    He was found in the Glade Subdivision, south of the Mall of Acadiana.   If he belongs to you, call 337-981-9957 or 337-501-0808.

FOUND:

   Male Rat Terrier.  He was found on Highway 31 in the Opelousas area.  To claim this dog, send an e-mail to mariefrbossard@gmail.com and provide a complete description.

 FOUND:

   Small to medium size white mixed breed male dog.  The dog was wearing a harness with a retractable leash still attached, but no collar or tags.  He's well behaved, sweet personality, responds well to commands, and seems to be an inside dog.  He was found in the Aurora Park Subdivision neighborhood.  The people who found him are desperate to find his owners as they can't keep him for very long.  If this is your dog or if you know who he belongs to, please call 337-849-7285.

FOUND:

   Black Lab, less than 2 years old, very friendly.  This dog was found in the River Ranch area, and is obviously a family dog because it is very loving and well-behaved.  If this is your dog, call 504-452-8173.

FOUND:

   Female Shepherd mix, small size, with a white coat.  She was found on Hwy. 31 just outside St. Martinville.  Her teeth are a little worn, so she's probably an older dog, but she has a wonderful personality, is gentle and friendly,  and is in very good health.  If this is your dog, please call 337-967-2827.

FOUND:

   Female Chihuahua.  She has a tan coat, is probably at least a year old, weighs about 6 pounds, and is wearing a collar, but with no tags.  She is in great shape and appears to have been well cared for.  She was found in the historical district of Crowley.  If this is your dog, please call 337-658-3934 or 337-250-4091.

FOUND:

   Male Black Lab, all black coat with brown eyes, no collar.  He is very friendly and well cared for, and was found wandering near the Mall of Acadiana.  If this is your dog, call 337-344-5927 or e-mail tattobilly@aol.com.

FOUND:

   Two dogs traveling together in the 4600 block of Congress Street at Wood Oak Circle.  One dog is a female, medium to large size, with a white coat with dark spots.  The second dog is a small to medium size female with a fawn and white coat, wearing a pink camouflage collar.    If these are your dogs, please call 337-412-3666 or e-mail peaschwet@bellsouth.net.

FOUND:

   Large solid gray cat, short-haired, found in the area between Opelousas and Sunset.  The person who found the cat believes it is a neutered male, but not positive.  If this is your cat, call 337-945-22790 or e-mail charisse1501@hotmail.com.

FOUND:

   Injured female dog found off Whitmore Road in the Scott area.  The person who found her says she was suffering from either a serious dog bite or possibly a gunshot wound.  Her Good Samaritan has had her treated by a veterinarian, and she is now well and in need of a good home, or for her owners to find her.  She is a sweet dog with a wonderful personality.  If this is your dog or if you think you might know who she belongs to, please call 337-984-9743 or e-mail coreya@fairwaymc.com.  

FOUND:

   Female Boxer or Pit Bull mix.  She is an older adult dog, with a reddish brown coat, and is missing a toe on her right front paw.  She may have also just given birth to puppies.  She was on Poche Bridge Road in the Breaux Bridge area.   If this is your dog, call 337-332-3098 or 337-288-5059.

To put your pet's information on our Lost and Found program, send the information to us at P.O. Box 90665, Lafayette, LA 70509, fax it to us at 981-6533 or e-mail it to Blue at brolfes@klfy.com.  Please include the following information:

-Breed, age and gender of pet (example, adult male German Shepherd)

-Description, including coat color, markings, size, collar info, etc.

-Location where pet was found or was last seen

-Telephone number or e-mail address where you can be contacted (cell numbers are preferred so that owner can be contacted immediately)

-Any other information that you think might help us find your pet

We also encourage you to check daily with your parish Animal Control Center and with area rescue organizations and humane societies.  Their volunteers do a great job of tracking lost and found pets.  Make sure your pet is microchipped and wearing a sturdy collar with an up to date rabies tag and ID tag, to help us reunite you and your pet if he wanders away from home.
