The past week proved to be expensive for narcotics dealers in Abbeville.  Two traffic stops yielded in excess of $2300.00, a large amount of illegal narcotics, and two nice vehicles, all of which the Abbeville Police Department is working to seize.

On Monday, June 18th, the Abbeville Police Patrol Division received information that illegal narcotics trafficking was being conducted from a blue truck in the parking lot of a local convenience store.  The responding officers located the blue Ford truck.  Investigation at the scene produced a large amount of illegal narcotics, a pair of brass knuckles, and the subsequent arrest of the three subjects in the vehicle.

Officers recovered 75 rocks of crack cocaine, codeine cough syrup, and 45 Zanbars.

The truck and $646.00 in cash will be seized.

Arrested were Kyle Jordon, 24, of Jennings; Toriano Jordan, 34, of Abbeville; Lindsey Touchet, 23, of Jennings.  All were charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute; Possess of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute; Possession of Prescription Pills without a Prescription; Illegal carrying of weapons.

On Wednesday, June 20th, Officers of the Abbeville Police Department stopped a black Dodge sedan for a traffic violation.  During the subsequent investigation a large amount of Liquid Codeine was located.

The driver of the vehicle, Mr. Jabori Huntsberry, 24, of Abbeville was arrested for Possession of Schedule II Drugs with Intent to Distribute.

The car and $1730.00 in cash will be seized.

Chief Coleman would like to commend those officers who took the initiative to respond to the information obtained and removed illegal narcotics from our city streets. Criminal Patrol Officers Meaux and Boutte and their respective shifts are doing a great job!

The Abbeville Police Department and Chief Rick Coleman, encourage any and all citizen of Abbeville to contact the police department if they have concerns of illegal narcotics activity in their neighborhood. The number to call is 893-2511.
