The number of high school students in Louisiana ready for the rigors of higher education is on the rise.

According to a study conducted by the Manhattan Institute, 35% of all high school graduates in Louisiana are college ready.

That's a 13% jump from 1991.

And the number of students earning a high school diploma also rose to 69%.

That's only two points behind the national average.
