There's new information in the bizarre case of three teens accused of robbing a grave site.

Deputies say three New Iberia teens robbed a grave site in the St. Peter's Cemetery.

They were found with human remains, including two human skulls.

Now, Chantz Choate and Charles Babineaux are charged with simple burglary.

Jobe Wright has been charged with simple burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All three are out on $25,000 bond each.

Prosecutors took a different route in charging these three teens.

There is a misdemeanor offense called desecration of a grave.

But if convicted, a person only faces a fine up to $500 and jail time of up to six months.

Instead, they were charged with simple burglary, which is a much more serious offense.

That is a felony crime punishable by a fine of no more than $2,000 and up to 12 years in prison with or without hard labor.
