Gueydan High Shut Down - Acadiana's Multi-Media News Station

A suspicious, beeping device forced everyone out of a high school, until investigators found out that device was just something a student brought to school to annoy his teacher.

Gueydan High was shut down and evacuated Wednesday.

Sheriff's deputies tell us they treated the situation like a bomb threat, sending everyone away until the area was safe.

A student placed the small, electronic device in a computer class and told his friends he just wanted to cause distractions.
