  • It's an image that broke hearts around the world, the sight of Louisiana's proud state bird, the Brown Pelican, struggling to survive.  Now, another image is giving millions of people hope, healthy birds flying free to begin a new life.

  • We're taking you behind the scenes of an amazing project taking place right here in Louisiana, the rehabilitation of thousands of animals struggling to survive the oil spill.

  • At the wildlife rehabilitation center that's been set up in Fort Jackson, Louisiana, wildlife experts from all over the globe are working alongside volunteers to clean oiled wildlife and prepare them for release back into the wild.

  • In a tiny community at the mouth of the Mississippi River, wildlife experts from around the world are working around the clock, alongside Louisiana volunteers, in an effort to make a difference.

  • From the beginning, Acadiana volunteers have been on the front lines of the oil Spill, saving Brown Pelicans and other animals. They include local veterinarians, vet techs, LSU veterinary school students, and trained wildlife rehabilitators.
