Reward Offered in Mailman Attack

Posted:

The US Postal Inspection Service is now offering a $50,000 reward for details leading to the arrests of the two suspects in Monday's mailman attack in Lafayette.

Lafayette Police say the 24 year old victim was stabbed in the stomach by two suspects after he allegedly refused to give them his wallet.

The attack happened around 3:30 pm on the 100 block of Ransome Street.

Those two suspects remain on the loose. But, residents say with the exception of a couple of isolated property crimes, the neighborhood is usually a safe one.

"I've been here for three years now and the only thing that ended up missing was my lawnmower. As far as anything else, any stabbing, shooting, no this is the first time "says resident Larry Cormier.

If you have any information on the two suspects wanted in yesterday's attack, you are urged to call 1-877-2455.
