MONROE, La. (AP) - Ouachita Parish deputies have arrested a Columbia man in connection with a fatal car crash.

Joshua Adkins, 18, was booked Tuesday on a charge of vehicular homicide in the death of 18-year-old William Carr.

Deputies said Carr was killed when the car in which he was a passenger left the roadway south of Monroe in July.

Adkins and a 13-year-old passenger were injured.

Sheriff's spokesman Maj. Marc Mashaw told The News-Star that Adkins' blood samples indicated he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
