THIBODAUX, La. (AP) - A 55-year-old Mississippi man has died from injuries he sustained in a crash on U.S. 90 near Raceland.

State Police said Anibal Alvarez, of Pascagoula, Miss., died Tuesday, the day after he crossed the median in his westbound Ford Focus and hit a 2004 Dodge Dakota driven by 62-year-old Eddie Bergeron of Houma.

Alvarez was taken to St. Anne Hospital in Raceland and then University Hospital in New Orleans, where he was pronounced dead.

Bergeron suffered minor injuries in the accident, which happened late Monday morning, according to The Comet newspaper of Thibodaux.
