MONROE, La. (AP) - The contract of Louisiana-Monroe football coach Charlie Weatherbie will not be renewed.

Director of Athletics Bobby Staub announced Monday that a national search for Weatherbie's replacement will begin immediately.

Weatherbie, who just completed his seventh season, compiled a 31-51 record that includes a 6-6 mark this past year.

In 17 seasons as a head coach, Weatherbie's overall record is 76-115 in previous stops at Utah State and the U.S. Naval Academy.
