WALKER, La. (AP) - State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says an overnight fire in Livingston Parish has claimed the life of an 84-year-old Walker woman.

Browning says the Walker Fire Department responded to the fire at 2:28 a.m. Wednesday.

He says the victim, Hazel Cowan, was found on the floor in the living room area of the home.

Browning says the cause of the fire is under investigation.
