It's the holiday season and a benefit concert was held at El Sido's in Lafayette to raise money and food for hungry families.
The 23rd annual Thanksgiving Zydeco featured some of the biggest names in zydeco music, and all for a good cause.
In its 23rd year, the food drive at El Sido's Zydeco and Blues Club has made some serious contributions, feeding almost 200,000 people in over two decades.
The owner of El Sido's, Sidney Williams says he gives back because he remembers his own hard times.
"It does me some good because I was there. I was there. I came here hitchhiking in 1966. Last year we raised 500 turkeys, gave away turkey, cornbread, rice dressing."
"God I say, if you can help me get on my feet, I'm going to do help people. I made a promise to god I was going to do that."

Now that he's stable, he keeps with the tradition, to stay true to the pact he made with god.
