WEST MONROE, La. (AP) - West Monroe is getting nearly $5 million in federal money for wastewater improvement efforts.
The state Department of Environmental Quality said that city is among 55 Louisiana municipalities that will be getting cash awards from the federal Environmental Protection Authority. Others include Urania in LaSalle Parish, Sicily Island in Catahoula Parish and Clayton in Concordia Parish.
The state agency says it will be delivering a total of $43 million in EPA money for wastewater improvement and so-called "green infrastructure" projects.
