MORGAN CITY, La. (AP) - The owner of the Evangeline Downs race track-casino has closed a $106.8 million deal to buy the Amelia Belle riverboat casino near Morgan City.

Dubuque, Iowa-based Peninsula Gaming is taking over the boat from Tropicana Casino and Resorts Inc.

In addition to Evangeline Downs at Opelousas, Peninsula Gaming also owns two riverboat casinos in Iowa and four Louisiana off-track betting parlors in Port Allen, New Iberia, Henderson and Eunice.
