A Carencro business owner is celebrating being crowned Mrs. Black Louisiana.

Juanita Prejean, owner of Big Poppa's Fitness Gym, competed this past weekend in Shreveport for the title.

Part of her winning efforts included how she plans to educate her community's youth on health and fitness.

"The crowning moment is the most nerve racking because you're sitting there in anticipation,  you're not knowing what's going to happen next and finally they crowned Mrs. Black Louisiana 2010, me, and I was so ecstatic really proud really happy." says Prejean.

Juanita's husband helped train her for the event. She came in first place in the best evening gown and best physical fitness categories.

Her next step is to compete in the Miss United US Pageant in Atlanta, Georgia this coming July.
