Officials have now identified the two men who died after a tragic plane crash during a social gathering this weekend.
It happened at the 'Fall Fly On' over Lake Buhlow in Pineville.
The Federal Aviation Administration says Thomas O'leary, Junior of Pineville and James Schultz, Junior of Alexandria were killed after their single engine Cessna 150 collided with another plane.
Spectators describe what they saw;"The one in the rear gained up a little speed and he clipped the wing, I seen where he curved like, he clipped the wing of the other front plane, and they both, just went down."
The two people on board the second aircraft, Ingrid and Darrell Newell, survived the crash and are being treated at an area hospital.
Two people were killed Saturday afternoon in a mid-air collision less than a mile away from the Pineville Regional Airport.
Authorities say the planes crashed during a social event for recreational pilots killing two and injuring two others.
A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman says each of the single-engine Cessna 150s were carrying two people when they hit at about 2:30 Saturday afternoon.
Both planes crashed into the woods. The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
