BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Authorities say two adults and a toddler have died after a fiery accident on Interstate 10.

A toddler died at the scene after one truck slammed into the back of another on Friday.

Police reported that two adults, including the mother of the toddler girl, died at Baton Rouge General Medical Center later in the day.

Killed in the accident were Sonia Gomez-Brionca, 27, her daughter, Alondra Brionca, and Jacqueline Gomez, 35, all of Ashburn, Ga.

The driver of the other vehicle was booked on three counts of negligent homicide, two counts of negligent injuring and a count of careless operation. Police say he told them he dropped his cell phone just before the crash.
