Both the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's office and the State Fire Marshall's Office have warrants out for the arrest of 29 year old Ferdinand Nickles.

Sheriff Mike Couvillon says Nickles is behind the gruesome murder of an Abbeville man.

Couvillon is looking through the long list of crimes committed by 29 year old Ferdinand Nickles.

Couvillon says Nickles is the man behind the gruesome murder of 20 year old Ernest Guidry Junior.

Along with learning who the suspect is, the sheriff also learned more details about the crime that he said may be drug related.

Sheriff Couvillon "It appeared that he was shot in the municipality of Abbeville, then the vehicle was driven with him in the vehicle at that point in time it appeared that the killer set the vehicle on fire and left the scene with an accomplice."

Guidry's mother, Mary Harris, is not sure what the motive of the crime was, but she says she feels some relief knowing a suspect has been identified. Harris explains what she would say if she came face to face with her son's killer.

Name: Mary Harris: "I would probably tell him that I forgive him and that if he could live with it then that's between him and god, and his own conscience."

If you know where he is you're urged to call the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office, or 911. Nickles is considered armed and dangerous.

Sheriff Couvillon expects more arrests will be made for the deadly crime.

An Abbeville woman believes she knows the person found inside of a burning vehicle early Monday morning in Vermilion Parish, and she claims that person was her son.

Zanika Bryant:  "We was very close. We always did things together. Everywhere we went he took me."

Zanika Bryant and Mary Harris are in mourning.  They believe Ernest Guidry Junior, a son, boyfriend, and father, was the one found burning in his pickup truck earlier this week.

Mary Harris: "We feel robbed."

While Sheriff Officials haven't released many details about the body, including the gender, Mary Harris says she is 100% sure it is her son.

The women also tell us they last heard from Guidry the night before the vehicle was found, where he fell victim to foul play.

The family of Ernest Guidry tells us he didn't have any known enemies but that many people didn't like him, claiming he was too flashy because of the car he drove and the way he dressed.

Mary Harris: "He didn't look for trouble or anything. He was just mostly to himself and he mainly rode with family, and if he had any enemies we would never know."

Sheriff officials say they are still investigating the homicide. As far as the body, deputies say they need more dental records to make a positive identification.
