ANGOLA, La. (AP) - Ruth Graham, daughter of famed evangelist Billy Graham and a minister in her own right, was unable to speak as she left Louisiana's death row - moved by the men she had met and prayed with and the stories of wasted lives and reclaimed faith she'd heard.
Graham is bringing "Ruth Graham & Friends," her ministry that combines workshops and worship to the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola through Sunday.
On Friday, Graham, her husband and about a dozen people who will present the workshops, toured the huge prison farm, viewing the various maximum-security camps, chapels, programs and facilities.
Graham spent about 45 minutes on death row, where about 90 inmates are confined, talking to condemned prisoners on two tiers and praying with them.
