High court won't hear teens' appeal in 2006 death

MANSFIELD, La. (AP) - Louisiana's Supreme Court has declined to hear an appeal in the case of 3 DeSoto Parish teenagers serving long prison sentences for a 2006 shooting death.

The victim was 68-year-old Vertis Booker, who was killed at his home during an attempted armed robbery.

Eighteen-year-old Bill Blow of Mansfield is serving a 60-year-sentence in the case for manslaughter and attempted armed robbery. Serving 30-year sentences for attempted armed robbery are 17-year-old Ronald Belsha and 18-year-old Demarcus Hines, 18, both of Mansfield.
