NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) - A man wanted in connection with a slaying in Louisiana has been captured in Rhode Island.
Authorities say 20-year-old Joshua Parker of Mansfield, La. was arrested Saturday in Newport by state police and U.S. marshals.
The Providence Journal reports that Parker is being held as a fugitive from justice.
Parker is 1 of 2 men suspected of fatally shooting 17-year-old Phillip Livigni in Shreveport on June 5. The other man, identified as 20-year-old Norman "Don" Heflin, remains at large.
Parker faces a charge of first-degree murder in his home state.
Authorities did not say why Parker was in Rhode Island.
